Surfing In The Clouds

In 2006 US domestic air travellers will be surfing the Internet with high-speed access with government approved technology.

"We are pushing the frontiers in order to bring the information age to all corners of the world," US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Michael Powell said, after a unanimous vote approving the new technology for US airlines. "We want it on the land, in the air, and on the sea."

Well, not the plane in the sea, of course....

This is a brilliant initiative, although I think it should take a while until we will bring the information age in all the corners of the world. This would be a challenge worth trying.
