New Google Adsense Case Study
Posted by Clare Greenway on: Friday 14 October 2005

From $200 To $3000 A Day!

Google has posted a new Adsense case study, describing how weblogsinc.com (behind sites such as Engadget and Autoblog) went from $200 to an incredible $3000 a day with Adsense alone.

While that figure is certainly impressive – when you consider the 100-website strong network generates over 60 MILLION pageviews a month, there is certainly potential to increase that daily revenue.

Some good tips:

"In the beginning, probably 1 percent of our revenue came from AdSense revenue," Jason Calacanis recalls. But over time, and after testing and optimizing AdSense features, this revenue grew more - from $1,000 to $3,000 a day – a 200 percent increase. While he used to view AdSense as a way to use unsold ad space, today he considers it to be a primary source of revenue for his business.

He advises other publishers to be methodical about testing, experiment, and try one or two new things at a time: "Set goals for yourselves around traffic, number of ads shown, ads per page, number of clicks and as you optimize AdSense, the revenue will follow."

Google Adsense is a great way for a business to make money from content – without having to resort to poorly converting traditional banner advertisements or those dreaded pop-up ads for money.
