New Jelly Bean powered Nexus 7 Google Tablet
Posted by Tim on: Wednesday 27 June 2012

Tasty tablet

Google is set to join the battle of the tablets with the unveiling of the new 8gig $199 Google Tablet, the Nexus 7, at the company's I/O event today.

The 7-inch tablet will run the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean 4.1 software update, and is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor.

The unit also features a 1.2-megapixel front camera, NFC and 1280 x 800 and rather fancy IPS-based LCD. For $249 you can buy the 16GB version, which might be a better idea as there is no SD card slot.

Google is also throwing in $25 of Google Play vouchers. Quite a deal!

The tablet is due to launch mid-July 2012 and will be available in the UK, US, Canada and Australia from launch.

More details we get them.
