It's something that should have been done years ago – a Most Wanted website for UK criminals on the run. But the people behind this bold new idea didn't counter on two things.

First, when something generating this much interest is launched - be prepared to take a huge amount of traffic. Second, always remember to register the nearest like domain, unless you want someone else to beat you to it.

Unfortunately for the Most Wanted webmasters, their site has been down all day thanks to the huge numbers logging on desperate to see the faces of naughty criminals.

A whopping 21,000 hits in five minutes caused the service to collapse.

As for same-domain grabbing, crimestoppersuk.org was registered only this morning, just a few hours after the crimestoppers-uk.org website was launched.

I have a feeling most people will be going to the doppleganger crimestoppersuk.org. Something to do with that pesky hyphen. Thankfully its related in some respects.

At least it isn't a mountain of sex chat rooms links I suppose.
