Yahoo Tests New RSS Search

Bloggers Find Secret Test Site

Yahoo accidentally revealed its upcoming RSS search plans on Friday, after curious bloggers found a secret test page designed to search indexed syndication feeds.

With millions of sites using feeds to publish their content on the Internet, Boost Marketing among them, its becoming increasingly difficult to find real content in so much chaff and spam.

Yahoo are obviously keen to tap this market and has for some time listed the RSS feed page on the search engine listings for ordinary websites, encouraging the adoption of the system.

PC Mag says Yahoo's new service - .a screenshot of which can be viewed here - has yet to be confirmed by the search engine.

"We're always testing new services, but we have no comment on the screen shots," said Yahoo spokesperson Meagan Busath.

It didn't last long. A few hours after the discovery of the test site by bloggers it was yanked by the search giant.

Yahoo is fast becoming the leader in innovative ideas - perhaps more people will catch on to this excitable search engine and offer stronger competition to Google.
