Microsoft plans to debut real time web conferencing communications software in a move to keep up with market demand.

The move is aimed at the growing demand by companies for their employees to work together from their desk.

Company Chairman, Bill Gates, said the move in the growing communications niche is one "of the big frontiers that Office is moving ahead on."

The new instant messaging program is called Microsoft Office Communication and will be able to track whether users are online or available for a meeting. It will also be able to reroute incoming messages to phones and instant messaging programs. The software is an enhanced version of Windows Messenger. Microsoft also plans to unveil a new version of its web conferencing program called Office Live Meeting.
