A Internet web writer has scooped up one of the most prized domains in history - BenedictXVI.com, but Catholics need not fear, Rogers Cadenhead has no plans to turn the domain over to the dark side.

The domain name was registered three weeks ago, along with a raft of other possible Pope names - Benedict XVI, Clement XV, Innocent XIV, Leo XIV, Paul VII, Pius XIII.

He goes on to say,

I registered all six of these as dot-com domain names earlier this month, which I feared was tacky -- to say nothing of soul-imperiling -- until I read about the vacant papal see stamp. Clearly I'm not the only baptized Catholic who gets geeked about this process.
